Colosseum: 2000 years, going strong.

 

So many stories and historic happenings wrap around the concrete marvels of the Flavian Amphitheatre, built almost 2000 years ago and still standing. Gods and Emperors and the Sun and the Warriors!!

 

The Flavian Amphitheatre,

the true name of the Colosseum, took its name from the Colossal 35m tall statue of Emperor Nero who was holding the world in his hands while reflecting in the lake! then came Vespasian & Titus, Nero's head was the Sun God's and gladiators faught for fun! ... as you do...

 

Historical Significance:

The Colosseum holds a special place in Roman history as a symbol of power, entertainment, and social hierarchy. It was a place where citizens of all classes would gather to witness the glory and brutality of ancient Roman games. Today, it serves as a powerful reminder of the achievements and excesses of the Roman Empire.

 

Modern-Day Preservation:

 

While the Colosseum has weathered centuries of earthquakes, looting, and neglect, efforts have been made to preserve and restore this ancient monument. In recent years, extensive restoration projects have been undertaken to stabilize the structure and ensure its longevity for future generations to enjoy.
